The Gems of West Queen West – Part III

This is the third part of  my walk on West Queen West ( between Bathurst and Trinity Bellwoods Park).  See  Part I & Part II.  The stores in this area are so unique.  Lots of artsy stuff, original fashion, lovely furniture stores and lots of great finds for kids.  The things you find here, you won’t find anywhere else.  Stores here open rather late and are closed on the odd day so if you have something specific in mind, best to call ahead to check their schedule.

Click “Continued…” to read about the first 3 stores.

The Paper Place

The Paper Place (887 Queen St. W.) is all about paper.  I used to sell greeting cards here before the kids came along and sucked out all of my creative energy.  I come into this store and am overwhelmed by all the beautiful paper and all the lovely things you can make with it.  My favourite find here are the paper balloons/lanterns that I hung over my daughter’s crib.

Anne Sportun

Anne Sportun (742 Queen St. W.).  I literally found it painful to browse in this store.  Anne Sportun’s jewellery lines are so unbelievably delicate and beautiful.  I like necklaces with lots of strands and rings that are stackable and I want EVERYTHING…but I know that my husband would have to do something REALLY bad in order for me to ever deserve receive something from this store 😉  Oh well.

Sunny Mummy Spa + Boutique

Sunny Mummy Spa + Boutique (903 Queen St. W.) – someone has finally thought of offering an on-site playroom and childcare at a spa!  Ok, I can’t imagine going for a Swedish massage while the my kids are in the next room, but a manicure or pedicure?  YES.  This spa is so pretty and inviting.  Childcare is included in the prices of all services but do mention that you require it in advance.
