Thanksgiving Weekend

Boy Playing on Pumpkin

Thanksgiving Funfest @ The Shops on Donmills (Lawrence & Donmills) takes place on Saturday & Sunday from 12-4pm.  There will be family entertainment, bouncing castle and a giant obstacle course.

Join Harbourfront Kids @ Harbourfront Centre for a 3-day festival for kids ages 5 to 12.  The main theme of the festival is RESPECT (people, animals, the environment) and workshops & activities are many and varied.  See the schedule of events.

The fabulous Pinkalicious, The Musical! has shows running throughout the weekend as well as a on Thanksgiving Day!

Go to a Pumpkin Patch!  So many to choose from :)   I found this website which has a wealth of information about Pumpkin Pateches around Toronto.  Scroll down to see a list by location.  Always call ahead before you visit a farm to confirm the schedule and events.  Our personal family favourites are Whittamore’s Farm & Downey’s Farm.  Downey’s Farm has so many pumpkins…the most I’ve seen.

Take a steam train ride and see Fall colours on the South Simcoe Railway.   A bit farther afield (Tottenham, ON), but sounds like a fun family excursion.  The ride is just under an hour and follows the Beeton Creek through the rolling country side.  The trip is narrated by a conductor and is geared towards families.  We have never been on this excursion.  If you have, please let me know your thoughts!
