What to do this weekend…Sept. 11th & 12th

Wha?  It’s the weekend again?  Hope all your kids had a wonderful first week back at school.

This weekend, visit Wychwood Barnes Artscape (Bathurst & St. Clair) for the Roald Dahl Festival.  Lots of interesting writing and drama workshops are being held for ages 8+.  Check here for more info.

Enjoy the Children’s Festival at the Markham Civic Centre (Hwy. 7 & Warden) on Saturday.  In its 12th year, this festival is York Region’s largest children’s event, featuring entertainment, crafts and activities for children from two to twelve.

My favourite event of the year is the Cabbagetown Art & Craft Festival which takes place at Riverdale Farm which boasts it’s own Fall Harvest Festival at the same time.  I used to have my own booth at this craft fair before the kiddies came along and sucked diverted my creative energy.  You will see tons of young families, lots of pets, all walking around absorbing the city’s artistic talent  in a beautiful outdoor fair.  At the farm, your kids can see the animals and taste the best corn-on-the-cob ever.

Toons for Toddlers (what a wonderful concept!).  This weekend, they are featuring: Thomas & Friends: Misty Island Rescue.
