What to do this weekend…Nov. 27th & 28th

Downsview Park’s Drive Through Trail of Lights is opening this Friday!  We missed this last year due to early bedtimes…but this year, we are ready!  Click here for more information, and a weekly schedule.  Don’t forget to get hot chocolate and donuts on the way 🙂

Sunnybrook Foundation is hosting Toronto’s Family Funfest at the Mertro Convention Centre this Sunday.

Don’t miss award-winning illustrator and toy designer Gary Taxali as he signs his new children’s book This is Silly! (Scholastic Canada) and launches his new collection of retro toys at Indigo Manulife Centre on Saturday, November 27, 2010 – 2:00pm.  There will be complimentary snacks and refreshments at this free event.

Go to the Shops on Donmills (Friday evening) and head to the Town Square for the second annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Santa and a few of his reindeer will be stopping by and there will a special performance by the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir. Jack Astors will be providing FREE Hot Chocolate to help you keep warm. Don’t miss this festive night sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit!

Go to a Young People’s Concert (ages 5-12) and get to know the talented members of the Toronto Symphony and their instruments as they perform various solos. Featured in this concert is Vivaldi’s spectacular Concerto for Four Violins as well as Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner Blake Pouliot.  This concert takes place at Roy Thompson Hall (1:30 & 3:30 on Saturday).  Click here for tickets.
